History

Wissota Skate Sharpeners (previously Wissota Manufacturing) was incorporated in 1946, and we were making skate sharpeners before our competitors even existed! There is a Wissota Skate Sharpener in the museum collection of the Minnesota Historical Society in St. Paul, and in the U.S Hockey Hall of Fame Museum (pictured to the right). Since 1946, we have built industrial skate sharpeners, bench grinders, precision electric motors, and grinding wheels. Wissota made all of the industrial bench grinders for Milwaukee, Electric Tool, Snap-On-Tools, Rockwell International (Delta), Wilton, Sioux Tools, and Bosch. Taiwanese and Chinese imports have decimated the bench grinders market and Wissota Skate Sharpeners has been using all of its expertise to manufacture ice skate sharpeners exclusively for many years now (hence the name change to Wissota Skate Sharpeners).
